Good Day All! And Welcome back

Hello everyone

Well more than likely most of the regular readers no longer read, its been a while. Well simply put, I stopped. I quit working out and dieting. Alot of things changed, more than likely I just lost my motivation as happens from time to time. Or maybe the motivation was for the wrong reasons and therefore would just disappear at one point or another. I needed or still need to do some soul searching, maybe find what direction my life needs to go into. I have some goal of course, like we all do. University in 2007, Europe for Feb2007-August2007. These are major goals of course, my problem is how do I reach them? I have some idea, and am working on that, but nothing that motivates me. The problem with motivation is you really in the end need it to come from yourself. I can get motivation from Tom, from a few people I know that have lost weight, and some of you can get motivations from me. This obviously helps, but what happens when that motivation runs dry? If you don't have a will in yourself to change you won't.

So what have I done on my own so far?

I gave up gaming. I am at the point where I have the time to play games, yet I don't. This I think will change my life.

I won't make any promises of posting everyday. This time the motivation is coming from myself, the only one I can really get motivation from.

As a final note..

Go Switzerland!

Hey I just found your blog. Keep on plugging away. I too have had my share of false starts. However,I am thinking that success is often found in the try try again motions. At least I hope that's the case. :)

Good luck, Tyler! You're right about motivation--it has to come from you. I wish I was going to Europe in 2007 :) What a great year you have planned!!! I gave up dieting in May, and surprisingly, just by not binging either, and getting a little movement in, the weight is coming off (I started at 323.) I'll be checking back!

Welcome Back..You Were Missed! I truely believe that when you realize being happy & healthy are all that really matter, you'll need no inspiration, no motivation. The pieces of your life will simply fall into place. Enjoy your bike rides. Enjoy your work-outs at the gym. Use them to relax your mind. Don't think about problems or try to find answers. Simply relax your thoughts, as your body gets into shape, so will your mind. :x

You got me inspired to start, and I am the least motivated person I know. I've stuck with it since February, when I discovered your blog, and that's the longest I've stuck with anything health-related in ages. I'd have to say that, by now, my inspiration is really coming from me, but I wouldn't have started if it hadn't been for you.

I lost my motivation several weeks ago as well. It's amazing how quickly one can fall back into old patterns, isn't it?

I'm not sure that it's all back - but I did spend a weekend away from home. It helped me get a lot of perspective.

The other thing I realized is - my body is addicted to sugar again. So, rather than battling diet AND exercise at the same time, I'm going to start with exercise. I'm hoping the dieting will follow suit in time. It's just too much to be "perfect" all at once!

All this to say - you've done it before, and you'll do it again. When you're good and ready.

    Tyler,

I know exactly how it is, I went 4 weeks without diet or exercise and I gained back 8 pounds. I was able to get myself back on my diet and exercize program and i lost the weight again. I hope that you are able to get back on track.

Have you looked at a book called "the Schwarzbein principle" ? It's helping me tremendously, not only to lose weight but to bring my body back to a health state. Since following the eating plan I have gone from taking 7 medications fo rmy allergies and asthma to only 2!!

    Good luck in the future

Thanks for sharing what you're going through, I think everyone goes through that loss and everyone experiences different levels of it.
I try to focus on better choices health wise and take the focus off of losing weight. I think we can also put a lot of pressure on ourselves. Giving up gaming is a huge step.

Tyler, I've checked in on your blog from time to time. You have done really well so far. Maybe it was a little too much too soon. I know someone who lost 50 pounds in a year through moderate exercise and eating sensibly. Something to think about?

Sorry, I must add. It took my friend one year to lose 50 pounds (to her ideal weight). In that time, she has developed a healthier lifestyle and has now successfully maintained her ideal weight for more than 3 years now.

What you're looking for is your "why". Did you ever figure out WHY you're doing this?

I started with one goal in mind, women. That was enough to take off the first 50. The next fifty I needed better reasons to lose than some broad.

But yet I'll still admit 10% of my why is for the ladies.
